A graduate of ILS Law College, Pune, with an LL.M. in Public Law from University College London. As Managing Trustee of the Rajasaheb of Miraj Foundation, he carries forward a trust the Patwardhans have held for the people of Miraj since 1762.

Raghavendra Phadnis Legal Aid Award
Received from Justice Abhay S. Oka, then a Judge of the Supreme Court of India, on the 101st Foundation Day of the Indian Law Society. It is the college's highest legal aid honour, awarded for 2022–23, when he led the Legal Aid Cell through five village camps, a jail visit, two mediated settlements and more than thirty cases.

About
A lawyer by training, a custodian by inheritance.
Adv. Madhavraje Patwardhan, Yuvaraj Saheb of Miraj, read law at ILS Law College, Pune, graduating with Distinction in 2023 as runner-up for the Best Student Award of his batch. He went on to an LL.M. in Public Law at University College London (2023–24), volunteering with Citizens Advice in Kensington and Chelsea alongside his studies.
His interests in the law run from public and constitutional law to trusts, land and taxation, subjects he has written on widely.
He trained as a junior at Nahar Law Chamber, Pune, and interned with the Office of Arvind P. Datar in Chennai, Hariani & Co., DMD Advocates and the Narmada Bachao Andolan. Today he serves as Managing Trustee of the Rajasaheb of Miraj Foundation and as a trustee of the Miraj Trust.

As Managing Trustee since March 2026, Madhavraje directs the Foundation's work in legal awareness, youth development, civic care and the restoration of Miraj's temples.

Yuva 360° Legal
A platform built by law students, for law students, across Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara and Pune. Legal awareness camps in ten villages of Miraj taluka and a training programme for 25 lawyers in July 2026.

Ganesh Talav Cleaning Initiative
An ongoing clean-up of the historic Ganesh Talav, with Rotary Miraj, the Brahma Kumaris and the Sangli Miraj Kupwad Municipal Corporation.
Temple restoration · Miraj Trust
Restoring Miraj's shrines
Renovation of the Madhavji Devalay, built in 1799, and of the Ganpati Mandir at Ganesh Talav (2025–26); reconstruction of the Ganpati Mandir at Miraj Killa (2026–27).

Drawn from his own five years at ILS Law College, the book is a practical companion for students entering India's law schools: how to channel energy, choose opportunities and stay motivated through five demanding years. He has presented it to law students, including a talk in Marathi for the Mahavidhi Law Students Association.
